Atlas Professional Services Achieves SOC 2 Type II Certification

Atlas Professional Services, a leading IT support services provider in Tampa Bay, today announced it has achieved Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type II compliance.

Certification was granted on Feb. 24, 2021, following cybersecurity and compliance firm A-LIGN’s three-month audit of Atlas’ internal controls. The audit found that Atlas meets the SOC 2 standards for security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy, based on the company’s compliance with the AICPA’s (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) TSC (Trust Services Criteria).

Atlas handles highly sensitive and confidential information for clients, such as passwords, documents and system information. The SOC 2 Type II report focuses on an organization’s internal controls related to compliance and operations, and evaluates the effectiveness of these controls over time.

Tests of Atlas’s control environment included an inspection of the organizational structure; inquiries with management, operations, administrative and other personnel; observations of personnel in the performance of their assigned duties; and inspection of documents and records pertaining to controls.

Moving forward, Atlas will perform a SOC 2 Type II audit and accreditation on an annual basis.
