November 6, 2021, marks 15 years since Atlas Professional Services opened its doors and signed our first professional IT solutions client. As we celebrate this business anniversary, we thought we’d take a look back at how it all started.
The Origins of Atlas
In 2006, our president and CEO, Greg Zolkos, was working as Director of Information Technology at Cast Crete in Tampa. There, he managed the network infrastructure for 16 physical locations and 450-plus employees. In addition to his IT duties, he was also exposed to various industries in the public and private sector. He often found himself managing the technology infrastructure for 20-plus companies.
This role gave him the experience he needed to start Atlas Professional Services. Greg founded Atlas in late 2006.
Initially, Greg set up the company to provide professional IT solutions to one company in the construction industry. By 2013, Greg had grown Atlas into one of the fastest-growing companies in Tampa Bay. Today, Atlas has 38 employees and services more than 200 professional IT solutions customers.
Over the last 15 years, different organizations have ranked us as one of the top managed service providers (MSPs) in Tampa Bay and around the world. We’ve also been consistently recognized for our growth and strong company culture by organizations such as:

- Business Observer
- Florida Trend magazine
- The University of South Florida
- Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce
We also made the Inc. 5000 list for four consecutive years.
Celebrating Our 15th Business Anniversary
