SOC 2 Type II Compliance Exam Offers Additional Layer of IT Security
Atlas Professional Services has successfully completed its annual System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type II compliance examination for the fourth consecutive year. This audit ensures our continued certification by evaluating our security controls.
The SOC 2 Type II Certification Process
A-LIGN, a cybersecurity and compliance firm, conducted a comprehensive 15-month SOC 2 audit of our internal controls. This examination, based on the AICPA’s Trust Services Criteria, confirmed our adherence to SOC 2 Type II standards in the following areas:
- Security protocols
- Availability
- Processing integrity
- Confidentiality and privacy
Why Conduct a SOC 2 Audit?
Handling sensitive client information, such as passwords and documents, requires stringent security measures. The SOC 2 Type II report assesses our internal controls related to compliance and operations, ensuring their effectiveness over time.
“Our clients put a lot of trust in us,” said Tony Martinez, CEO of Atlas Professional Services. “The annual SOC2 Type II audit verifies that our protocols and controls provide the highest level of protection for our clients. It’s an intentional investment and commitment we make in the interest of going above and beyond to protect the clients and community we serve. That being said, this is one layer in a continuous, defensive, in-depth approach to cybersecurity when it comes to safeguarding our clients’ environments.”
In the face of increasing cybersecurity threats, it is crucial to confirm that all protective measures are in place.
Audit Procedures
The audit included:
- Observations of personnel performing their duties
- Inspection of organizational structure
- Review of documents and records related to controls
- Interviews with management, operations, administrative and other personnel
