SOC2 Type II Certification Completed Again
Once again, Atlas Professional Services completed its annual examination for System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type II compliance. This is the third consecutive year we conducted a SOC 2 audit. Afterward, we received a report on the organization’s controls relevant to security to maintain our SOC2 Type II certification.
The SOC2 Type II Certification Process
As part of the examination, A-LIGN, a cybersecurity and compliance firm, conducted a 12-month SOC 2 audit of Atlas’ internal controls.
Based on our compliance with the AICPA‘s (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) TSC (Trust Services Criteria), the audit found we meet the SOC2 Type II standards for:
- Security protocols
- Availability
- Processing integrity
- Confidentiality and privacy
Why conduct a SOC 2 audit?
At Atlas, we handle highly sensitive and confidential information for clients. These include passwords, documents and system information.
The SOC 2 Type II report focuses on an organization’s internal controls related to compliance and operations. Also, it evaluates the effectiveness of these controls over time.
“Our clients put a lot of trust in us,” said Greg Zolkos, President and CEO of Atlas Professional Services. “We complete the annual audit for SOC2 Type II certification to make sure our internal protocols and controls are protecting our clients at the highest level possible.”
With cybersecurity risks at a record high, it’s important we confirm that every possible layer of protection is in place.
Tests of Atlas’s control environment for the report included:
- Observations of personnel in the performance of their assigned duties
- Inspection of the organizational structure
- Inspection of documents and records pertaining to controls
- Inquiries with management, operations, administrative and other personnel
