Atlas Professional Services Helps Raise $62,000 at Annual Bowling Event
Atlas Professional Services was proud to serve as a corporate sponsor of the 11th Annual Because of Jason Bowl-A-Thon 2018. The event was held on August 26 at Pin Chasers Veterans in Tampa. The company sponsored five lanes during the course of the day, including three during the family bowl and two during the adult bowl. This year’s event raised more than $62,000 for the Jason Ackerman Foundation.
The Jason Ackerman Foundation focuses on improving the lives of youth who face and/or have survived challenging circumstances through educational support and entertaining experiences. All proceeds from the Because of Jason Bowl-A-Thon 2018 support the Jason Ackerman Memorial Scholarships. Granted annually, these college scholarships celebrate youth who have survived health issues or life-altering circumstances beyond their control and continue to thrive and “pay it forward.”

Over the last 11 years, the Jason Ackerman Foundation has provided 225 scholarships to local teens. This is thanks in part to the funds raised during the Bowl-a-thon event.
“Giving back to the community is important to our organization and our team,” said Greg Zolkos, CEO and President of Atlas Professional Services and a member of the Jason Ackerman Foundation board of directors. “We were thrilled to participate in this event once again. It’s one of the few charity events that invites the whole family to attend.”
A Community Event
Many generous individuals and organizations throughout the area participated in the Because of Jason Bowl-A-Thon 2018. Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheerleaders and mascots from the Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Rowdies joined the festivities. Former Lightning player and two-time Stanley Cup champion Ruslan Fedotenko also lent his support.
Silent auction items included dinners with local athletes, sporting event tickets, memorabilia and jewelry. The 50/50 raffle totaled $6,000, and the winner – Atlas Project Manager, Kim Shimer – graciously donated her $3,000 winnings back to the Because of Jason Bowl-A-Thon 2018.
“Giving the money to the foundation was a no-brainer for me. I didn’t have to think about it very hard,” said Kim. “To me, there is more fulfillment and excitement in giving back than whatever I would do with any money won at a charity event. It fills your heart and is everlasting.”
