Get to Know Vice President of Business Development Terry Kincaid

This spotlight is on Vice President of Business Development Terry Kincaid.
Tell us a little about your career and educational/professional background.
I graduated from USF and have been in the telecommunications industry for 29 years.
What do you like most about working in the managed IT services industry?
Helping our clients to navigate through all the fast-changing technology so they are at ease and can focus on what they do best.
What do you like most about your current role?
I like working with our clients to show them what options are available that will resolve any issues they might be having or what will be a benefit to their organization moving forward.
What advice would you give someone interested in pursuing your line of work in the managed IT services industry?
Double- and triple-check to make sure your vendors and contractors are doing their job correctly.
What’s the best piece of business advice you’ve ever received, and why?
To always be punctual. Don’t waste others’ time, it is valuable.
What are some of your personal hobbies outside of work?
I like to golf and traveling to other countries.
What’s the best piece of personal advice you’ve ever received, and why?
If you’re going to do something, always give a 100% when you do it. Then you never have to look back and wonder “what if.”
Tell us about your family and where you’re from.
I have been with my wife, Michelle, for 47 years (40th wedding anniversary this July). We met when we were 16 years old in high school. We have four children, of which three of them are triplets – two identical girls and a boy. They are 28 years old now, and our oldest son will be 32 in July. We have two grandsons right now; one is 11 months old and the other is 17 months old.
What might someone be surprised to learn about you?
I have had lunch at the White House.
If your home were on fire and all people and pets were safely outside of danger, what is the one item you’d rescue from the fire and why?
The box of family pictures; they have so many generational memories.
What was the first concert you attended?
Little River Band over at the Lakeland Civic Center.
What would be the most amazing adventure to go on?
Traveling down the Nile River.
What pets did you have while you were growing up?
We had a Pug named TuFu.
What are some small things that make your day better?
Giving our managed IT services clients information that helps them resolve their issues.
Who’s your go-to band or artist when you can’t decide on something to listen to?
Frank Sinatra
What sports or clubs were you in during high school?
I played football, basketball and baseball, and I high jumped on the track team.
What’s your favorite sports team and/or sport?
What could you give a 40-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation?

What city would you most like to live in, and why?
Florence, Italy. It has a lot to offer, and it is a laid-back little town.
Where would you spend all your time if you could?
With all my family.
