Positive Company Culture Drives Success

This year has been an incredible year for our team – full of awards, recognition, positive company culture and more. As we close out 2023, we wanted to look back at all the standout moments that made this year so incredible. In no particular order, they are:

1. Making the MSP 501 List for the 10th year in a row

Atlas made the list of top Managed Service Providers (MSP) by Channel Futures for the 10th year in a row. The list – known as the MSP 501 – looks at all MSPs across the globe. It then ranks them based on several business metrics. Atlas came in at #213, which is a huge accomplishment, considering all the new MSPs forming every day.

2. Greg Zolkos being named an Outstanding Leader of the Year finalist

Our President and CEO Greg Zolkos was a finalist in the Outstanding Leader of the Year category for the Tampa Bay Chamber‘s annual Small Business of the Year Awards this year. This award recognizes the top leaders in the Tampa Bay area, and we’re proud to be led by one of the best!

3. Being named a USF Fast 56 Award winner

Each year, the University of South Florida recognizes the fastest-growing USF Bull-owned or Bull-led businesses with the Fast 56 Awards. Atlas was on this list for the sixth year in 2023. It was extra special because Greg Zolkos and his wife, Nicole Zolkos, were both honored. This was the first year ever that a husband and wife have made the list in the same year with separate companies.

4. We completed our SOC2 Type II examination for third consecutive year

Once again, Atlas completed its annual examination for System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type II compliance. This is the third consecutive year we conducted a SOC 2 audit. The audit reviews an organization’s internal controls related to compliance and operations. This is important because we handle highly sensitive information and must ensure that every possible layer of cyber-protection is in place.

5. Two employees celebrated 10 years with Atlas

We think the satisfaction of our employees say a lot about our positive company culture. And we’re proud to share that two of them celebrated 10 years with Atlas this year. Tom Flammia and Adrian Swaim both joined the Atlas team in 2013 and have been valuable members of our team ever since. They join four other employees who have worked at Atlas for more than a decade. Two more will join the club next year.

6. We welcomed nine new employees

We’re proud to share that we welcomed nine new employees to the Atlas team this year. More than one of these employees joined the team based on the recommendation of a current employee who has found their home at Atlas. It says a lot about our positive company culture that our current employees would recommend our workplace to friends.

7. Two former employees rejoined the Atlas team

Speaking of our positive company culture – in 2023, we had two former employees rejoin the Atlas team. Ron Gaskins joined Atlas as Solutions Architect/vCIO after 11 years working for other companies. Samantha Billie also rejoined Atlas after just 11 months working for another local company. She picked up where she left off as our project manager.

8. We started offering advanced cybersecurity monitoring with Arctic Wolf

It’s important that we offer our clients the best solutions available to prevent cyberattacks given the changing cyber landscape. In 2023, that meant adding Artic Wolf to our toolbox of cybersecurity productsArtic Wolf’s solutions continually monitor networks, endpoints, and cloud environments to help organizations detect, respond to and recover from cyberattacks.

9. We supported countless local charities

Giving back to the community is important to our team, and in 2023 we donated our time and money to support local charities. These include Because of Jason, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Central and Northeastern Florida, the Kyle Tucker FoundationPayton’s LegacyOneBlood and a handful of others.

10. We helped businesses navigate important acquisitions

We also helped more than half-a-dozen businesses navigate a merger or acquisition in 2023. It’s important to fully integrate the IT infrastructure of two companies when merging with or acquiring a business. Our team helped conduct the necessary due diligence and manage the necessary transitions to make this a smooth process for both sides.

As you can see, we have a lot to celebrate in 2023. We’re also looking forward to seeing where 2024 takes us and what new challenges, opportunities and clients the new year brings.
